The Beast (Series)

2009. Patrick Swayze, Travis Fimmel, Lindsay Pulsipher, Kevin J. O'Connor.

Patrick Swayze's last work. The series was cut short by his rapid declining health near the end of his life. Still, he hung in there and made as many episodes as he could before it became just too much. There was only one season of it.

Excellent series!! Swayze plays an FBI agent in Chicago, with a younger partner (Fimmel) he is showing the ropes to. It's a very dark police drama, and not at all what you'd expect. The line blurs between the "good guys" and the "bad guys" a little, with many shades of gray.

Outstanding, and especially appealing for Swayze fans. You can see in the later episodes as Swayze starts to look really gaunt, but the man is a machine - he works at 100 percent, even when you can tell it's almost impossible for him to maintain that level in his condition. Anyone who admires Swayze as an actor or as an inspiration owes it to him to see this last, heroic effort of his to complete the series. His performance quality never wavered, even at the end ...amazing courage and cajones!! :hail:

I give it     out of a possible

So different from other cop series. I enjoyed the story line because it wasn't typical and predictable. After seeing Swayze's acting in it and the struggle he went through to continue the work I have even more of a great respect for his fight against cancer. An amazing, courageous man.
